STRESS RELEASE TIPS FOR FINALS

It’s that time of the semester again. The time that every college student wishes they could just skip over, or sleep through. Fortunately for you many members of the CLRS team are in school and have been kind enough to share their go to secrets for making it through finals.

Preserve your Sleep! It’s important to make sure you get an adequate amount of sleep, both quantity & quality. No all nighters or caffeine binges, as they will backfire.

Breathing Exercises - I know it sounds corny but trust me it’s a great way to wake up your mind when studying or before taking an exam.

Listen to Music! Listening to music has shown positive results when listened to while studying. The right tone of music can lower your blood pressure, relax your body, and calm your mind.

Take Breaks! Try not to study for more than 2 hours at a time. Your brain needs to rest when learning just as your body needs to rest when exercising. Clearing your head will allow you to retain more information.

Do not get distracted! When taking a break, don’t let them go on too long. Eat a banana, step outside for some air, but do not do something that you'll get caught up in, like TV or checking e-mail.

Eat well! This applies to the whole week, not just the morning of a final. Eat balanced meals at normal times.

These tips might seem obvious, but remember even little details can have a tremendous impact on your test results!

Slow day around the office today so we started throwing around ideas for Valentine’s Day.

1. Take 365 pieces of candy and wrap each piece in a cute note for your loved one to open each day for the next year. Some ideas for notes might be: inside jokes, reminders, innuendos, declaration of love, etc.

2. Make a mix CD – Now the important part = record yourself saying something naughty between the third and fourth song. Don’t mention the recorded message; just let it happen naturally. This might really be fun if he happens to listen to your mix in the car with his mates.

3. Long Distance? Have your long-distance loved one wear his or her favorite tee to sleep and then send it to you. Now you can wear the shirt to bed and you’ll feel that much closer.

4. Select a recipe at random from a cookbook for the two of you to make together.

I hope we’ve given you inspiration to create your own fun Valentine Day for your loved one!

Here at CLRS Technology we are very excited about early photos coming out of our CLARO clinical studies. Today we received the attached photographs from a study led by Dr. Ron Moy at U.C.L.A.

WHAT IT MEANS TO SAY GOODBYE

We have mixed emotions today at CLRS Technology as we say goodbye to a teammate who’s been with us since the beginning. Liz is moving to Colorado to support her husband as he goes back into the studio to work on his band’s next album.

Liz leaving got me to thinking about what it means to say goodbye and I realized that this isn’t a sad occasion, as there really is no such thing as goodbye. It’s funny how we say goodbye to friends and coworkers through the years, however they never really go away. Sure you might not see them every day, but in today’s “wired” world they never really go away as we stay in touch via email, blogs, MySpace, etc. Technology has given us many wonderful things, but I am most grateful for its usefulness in building and maintaining friendships – Isn’t that what life is all about.
